Stayin in UK

Well in a last minute plot twist sent down by devil or god, I got a job at Amazon here in the UK.

So Im still here and will be until Im not then, I reckon.

I started my new position as “Sortation Associate” last week and let me tell ya, its a far cry from my former career as an auditor.

In a relative way, it kinda reminds me of that land in Pinocchio where all the hoodlum kids go after they’ve been caught smokin. Where they turn into Donkeys n shit.

But Im still shielded by the whole, ‘Im in England and its all about the experience bruh”, so I don’t mind.

An arsehole line-boss is merely an observation, like Im a note-taker in a worldly case study.

And Im fukin-A happy to be earning again. ‘Something’ is a 100 percent gain on ‘nothing’. And it tourniquets the hemorrhaging gash in savings.

Im also cognizant of all the folks out there that have lost so much more throughout this traumatic year… so while this new income streamer isn’t exactly ideal, I am humbly grateful.

Last Day at the Kempton

04:16:25 – Today will be my last day volunteering at the Kempton before I head off back to the States to find work and rebuild my life. Things will be a bit different this time around as it is Tuesday, not my normal Thursday visit. This means a whole new team of volunteers that I will be introduced to, specializing in electrical work as opposed to Thursday’s mechanical side of things.

I would much rather work on Thursday, but the Prime Minister will be imposing the new tier 3, lockdown 2.0 here in the UK that day. All non essential work will not be permitted from Wednesday night, onward. The Covid has once again, reared its ugly head with the number of cases sharply increasing over the past month. NTM, it is getting cold here now, which will surely add to the infection rate.

Side note: Today is also election day back home. Im hoping my country, the good ol USA doesnt go into full riot mode when either side wins. It is INSANE how bad things have gotten back home since I left in February.

I am bringing my camera and the following equipment to the Kempton to take advantage of my membership access to all the nooks and crannies of the museum and its grounds.

Today will be all prime for a good time….

  • Sony A7iii with
    • Sony 24-105 F4 – for any and all outdoor shots requiring reach.
      • Decided to not go with this due to its size, and slow speed.
    • Batis 24mm f2  – wide shots in low light
    • Laowa 15mm f2 – ultra wide shots
    • Carl Zeiss Jena MC Flektogon 35mm f2.4
    • Sony 85mm f1.8 – indoor tight shots in low light
    • Cleaning kit – of course
    • Manfroto mini tripod – easy packing/long exposure
